The Tab is an e-cart website that aims to provide a simple and fun way for people to find and buy cool stuff online. They wanted to give their website a sci-fi yet minimal look and feel, with a white background color and black texts to enhance the clarity. They also wanted to use 3D elements to make their website more realistic and engaging.
We, The Hyphn, are a team of creative designers who specialize in creating unique UI designs for various platforms and purposes. We were hired by The Tab to design their website and deliver a UI design that would meet their expectations and goals.
The Challenges One of the main challenges we faced while working on this project was to create a balance between the sci-fi and minimal aesthetics. We wanted to make the website look futuristic and innovative, but not too complex or overwhelming for the users. We also wanted to use bright colors to make the website fun and lively, but not too flashy or distracting.
Another challenge we faced was to create 3D elements that would fit well with the overall design and functionality of the website. We wanted to use 3D elements to add depth and realism to the website, but not to make it look cluttered or confusing. We also wanted to ensure that the 3D elements would be responsive and interactive, so that the users would have a smooth and enjoyable experience on the website.
The Approaches
To overcome these challenges, we used various approaches and techniques to create a UI design that would satisfy both the client and the users. First, we did some research on the target audience and market of The Tab, as well as on the latest trends and best practices in UI design. We analyzed the needs, preferences, and behaviors of the potential users of The Tab, as well as the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of their competitors. We also looked at some examples of successful sci-fi and minimal UI designs, and learned from their features and feedbacks.
Second, we created some sketches and wireframes of the website, using tools like Adobe XD and Figma. We experimented with different layouts, colors, fonts, icons, images, and animations, and tested them with various devices and browsers. We also gathered feedback from the client and some potential users, and made some revisions based on their suggestions and comments.
Third, we developed some prototypes of the website, using tools like Adobe XD, Figma, Cinema4D and other programming languages We created some 3D models of the products and other elements of the website, using realistic textures, lighting, shadows, reflections, and animations.
The Deliveries
After several iterations and refinements, we finally delivered a UI design that we were proud of and that met the client’s requirements and expectations. The final deliveries of the project were:
A UI design document that contained all the details and specifications of the website design, such as the color scheme, typography, iconography, imagery, animation, navigation, interaction, responsiveness, accessibility, usability, etc.
A UI design mockup that showed how the website would look like on different devices and browsers.
A UI design prototype that demonstrated how the website would work on different devices and browsers.
A UI design source code that contained all the files and codes of the website design.
A UI design feedback report that summarized all the feedbacks we received from the client and some potential users during the project.
The Results The client was very happy with our UI design for The Tab. They praised our creativity, professionalism, quality, efficiency, communication, collaboration, etc. They also reported that our UI design helped them increase their traffic, conversions, sales, retention, loyalty, satisfaction, etc.
We were also very pleased with our UI design for The Tab. We enjoyed working on this project and learned a lot from it. We also received some positive feedbacks from some potential users who tried our UI design prototype. They said that they liked our UI design because it was simple, funny, realistic, and engaging.
